Hey! Best Grey Cup memory. 1971 Grey Cup. Empire Stadium Vancouver, pouring down rain. I’m drinking 5 star rye whiskey out of the bottle. Bad idea, last drink of rye I had ever had, I had enough that day. So my favorite moment of the game, late in the game. Stampeders are beating the Argonauts, 14 – 11. Toronto is moving in for a potential touchdown or a tying field goal. Leon McQuaid, the infamous Leon McQuaid smuggles the ball and all I remember seeing in the end zone is Larry Robinson of the Stampeders, his hands go up in the air as we recover the fumble and preserve the Grey Cup victory. 1971, it was awesome!
